Our turn for Grandma Fun!

Grandma arrived just in time! LT was sick last week and now I'm sick and TT, too. Not to mention, I'm exhausted... LT was able to go back to daycare today so we can get some of our "projects" done before the big arrival.

Here's some pictures from last week.

Is that a big baby?

LT and Gma play "dino stories" using the dart board in a very creative manner.

Then we set up one of the best train tracks ever (in my opinion!) in the back.

And there was even a "bubbletown" bath!

Baby bro should arrive in the next two weeks. Hopefully not for a few days as we're still sick. Bleh.

Busy Weekend

Finally we had some warm weather (it seems like winter's been going on forever, but it's probably normal) and it got in the 80's over the weekend! We had the brilliant idea to go to the beach along with a lof of other people.

Waiting to ride!

Helicopters...

Dragons...

Trucks...

Even a rollercoaster!

Then we were off to the beach. We didn't bring our swimsuits thinking that it would be colder at the shore, but it wasn't! I had to buy a bathing suit bottom out of the sale box, TT found some shorts in the back of his car and LT had to make do in his Handy Manny undies. It was so fun!

Sunday we hit up the Home & Garden show and LT even made a fire truck!

Moon Sand!

LT got this moon sand playset for his birthday last year and then he got a very nice and unexpected "big brother" gift from my friends P & M with different colors of moon sand and stamps last week. (BTW, loyal readers P & M, LT is going around saying how nice P & M are and how he really likes you guys. :D Thank you!)

I must admit when we first got the playset, I was skeptical. Probably because we were trying to play inside and blue sand went everywhere, so it was designated an "outdoor toy" and set in the garage all winter. Now that it is nice out, we took it all outside and I have to say ... it is really fun! I think it will get a lot of playtime this summer. It's not exactly like playdough where you form a shape, it works better with molds. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the 3 year old or the 30 year old.

Showing off a molded alligator.

And this one I just think is funny!

Yard Work!

It's never to early to start mowing! Or is it? Well, he only "helped" for about 2 rows.

This vine had been bothering me for a while, just so overgrown and taking over the fence. I started trying to cut it back and then it started to fall, so we decided to pull it all down...

LT gets in the spirit of things!

TT singlehandedly drags the entire vine out to the front!

LT poses with the vine to give you an idea of how big it really was!

TT had to spend the next couple hours fnishing off the vine and digging up the three enormous roots. I'll see if I can get a picture of the biggest one tomorrow. That was one amazing thing. It looks like it was originally on a trellis and then was just left to grow.

Easter Day

LT could hardly have been more excited than he was for "Easter Day." He wanted an egg hunt so bad! So we had one ...

Do you see any eggs hiding here?

It was very sucessful. The eggs had some chocolates and then stretchy dinos and dino tattoos.

After the big hunt, LT helped me put together baby's chair while BLTSr put together the crib. It's not just a baby chair, it's also a kid chair!

'Crosse Game

We went to our 2nd professional lacrosse game today. What? You're shocked that San Jose has a professional lacrosse game? Oh wait, we were, too.

Not only do we have a team! They have banners for all the players hanging up downtown:

Here's the Stealth super fans!

I asked BLT Sr to take some action shots ... um this wasn't exactly what I was thinking of:

This is what I would call a BAD EXAMPLE. Fortunately, LT remembered later on that after the fighting, they got a time out on the bench. This is when we have to hold up our signs...

Finally some real action!

It was a very exciting game. We won with a goal with 4sec left to play!

Is it summer yet?

I know we haven't posted in awhile, therefore losing even our most loyal blog readers. But you can't do something fun or picture worthy every day, can you??

Last weekend we pretended it was summer and pumped up the sprinkler ball. I'm not sure it was really quite warm enough, but it was nice and sunny. It was fun. Too bad that night, LT came down with a high fever and sickness that lasted almost 3 days. Guess it wasn't really summer yet? Really, I think he picked it up at the indoor playground where his daycare has been meeting for the last two weeks due to a serious plumbing problem at the house. I like to refer to the playground as "hotbed of sickness." Poor LT hadn't been sick in over a year, probably.

Finally he was feeling better and Wednesday evening we were listening to some cds in his room when the alphabet song came on. I started writing down the letters as they were saying them and then he erased them and took his turn. I was pretty impressed! This is with no help - I did try and tell him the line when on the other side for the d, but he emphatically told me that "no it doesn't." Daddy came home right after "E," so who knows if this was the end or if he could have kept going?? He's a bit of a perfectionist, so he gets frustrated if he doesn't know how to do something and then just stops trying. Hopefully, he'll grow out of that some.

Ano Nuevo

We visited a nearby beach where elephant seals gather around this time of the year to breed. We didn't see any births, but we did have beautiful weather and lots of baby seals.

Zoo animals, Lego animals

We took a trip to the zoo on Presidents' Day. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea. LT enjoyed the giraffe that looked at us, the kid-size door and brushing the goats (kids?).

Later, LT surprised us with his Lego skills.

A pair of Tyranosaurus Rex

A dog (or was it a velociraptor?), an airplane, and an "elephant T-rex"

(Feels like) Springtime!!

Finally it stopped raining after raining pretty much every single day of January. (Which was fine, we did need the rain!)

We sold off the washer and dryer from our old house Saturday morning, so then we felt justified in getting some new patio furniture. It's great! There are 4 chairs, 2 ottomons and a table, so you can sit 6. The chairs also recline for lounging. See picture #1.

We also had a fire in the Chimnea, tested out the tiki torches (also left by the previous owner) and even made S'mores!

In other exciting news, the hot tub is back in operation and the three of us used it both last night and the night before. Yeah!

Hands-on art

LT dons a smock (aka daddy shirt) in preparation to paint.

He learns to mix colors to make new colors, and invariably everything turns brown.

Handprints are cool too.

I call this piece, "Arghhh!"
