Yogoatee

Now we know what BLT will look like with a goatee. That is, if it is made of yogurt.

AKA, what happens when you leave a toddler unattended with a bowl of yogurt.

Light

One of BLT's new favorite words is "light." Here he is in the car this afternoon after I pointed out the light on the ceiling to him. I turned it on and off which really got him excited!

We had a really nice evening. We all walked over to dinner at a local restaurant. I was worried that it would be too late for BLT, but he was great. He ate a whole banana, almost an entire glass of mango lassi, and had several bites of Vietnamese dumpling. Then he had fun playing with a paper airplane we made out of a magazine insert card and going through my wallet. I hope I didn't lose anything! He then ran (not walked) all the way back to our house... that's 1/2 mile! Bedtime wasn't until 9PM then, but he was sure in a good mood all evening!

The Boys

Aren't they cute? Daddy laid on the floor, so BLT did, too! Tough days at the office?

BLT helped me bring in the mail and then the trash cans today. I tried to get a picture of him helping with the trash can, but it wasn't easy! He can't hold it up by himself, so I have to hold on at the same time.

Now that the weather is getting better and it's light out later, BLT doesn't want to go to bed! He didn't go to sleep until 8:15 tonight. We've been spoiled with an early 7:30 bedtime for so long.

Mommy, You're so funny!

I'm hilarious. My captive audience finds it just oh-so-funny if I look up at him from beneath the highchair under the tray.

Tonight I reached the pinnacle of my cooking-for-toddlers career. Tonight's appetizer was carrot mini-muffin (courtesy of BLT Sr) on our grocery trip, followed by a main meal of pesto, avocado, cheese and turkey crepe. Sadly, only two bites of crepe were sampled despite BLT's love for this crepe from the crepe spot at the mall. A side benefit, however, was BLT Sr. and my dessert of lemon crepes.

I wanted to go to the fabric store after work. I asked BLT if he wanted to go shopping an he said yeah and even climbed into his seat with no crying! Wow! To get to the shop I wanted to go to, we drive our usual way and then pass our street without turning. Well, apparently BLT did not mean it when he said he wanted to shop. When we passed our street, he panicked and pointed to our street and said "go." Who knew he knew where we lived?!?!? So we didn't go to the store, we went home and made do with a walk over to the grocery for the crepe ingredients.

Oh, I've been on hiatus from blogging. Too tired. Still recovering from our trip last weekend ...

Put me in the Zoo!

We visited San Diego over the weekend and had a great time! Here we are at the Wild Animal Park with Cousin JT and Uncle JK. It was such a relief to be somewhere where it wasn't raining all the time!

Bedtime Routine

Hmmm... it looks like Dropshots cuts off the video at 2 minutes. I'll have BLT Sr. upload the full clip (maybe even at better resolution!) to our website on Monday or Tuesday of next week. We're off to San Diego to visit Burli and family for the weekend!

I Was Running

Naturally, we have started BLT in track workouts.

Hahahaha.

No, this is from this weekend when BLT Sr. & I were doing a little track workout. BLT sr. would run his 400 and then I would do my 300 during his rest period and vice versa. We tried to get BLT to run along for our cooldown.

On the go

BLT relocated all stuffed animals from his room to a pile in our room before bed. All at top speed, of course.

BLT was wearing a dress up costume when I came to pick him up today. We took it off and I told him to put it away and sure enough, he went and found the box for dress up clothes and put it right away. Then I said it was time to get his lunch box and he emptied out his whole cubby (even though I told him we really did not need to take his sheet & blanket home today). It was all very cute. Then he was a real pain and would not get in the carseat for 15 minutes. Arg. Oh well.

LegoWorld

Birds eye view of Lego Table Gone Wild.

We had a nice weekend. BLT tried his first sashimi last night. He really liked it! He had hotate (scallop) with tobiko (fish roe) and hamachi (yellow tail). He had almost a full slice of hotate! He also had some omlette and quite a bit of carrot and sweet potato tempura. I guess the way to get veggies in him is to deep fry them! He dipped everything in some soy sauce on his plate.

Friday night, BLT had his first fish sticks. I got out the box and he got so excited. It was very strange because he'd never had them before! When I got the bag out of the box, he got even more excited and went and got out one of his plates and brought it over to me. He was very upset when I wouldn't give them to him and put them in the oven instead. I had to turn them halfway through and that caused more tears. Once they finished, he could hardly wait for them to cool! They were a hit! (Dipped in pizza sauce, of course!) BLT Sr. was so proud.

I just got a sewing machine, so I wanted to show off my first project. I'm making bags to hold BLT's toys, since most things have more than one pice. This is the first one! It still needs a cincher thing to close the drawstring. I added a tag so he would know what toys go in there. This one is for "car wash."
