LT & DT have a treat for you!
And from last weekend, DT & I made some treats for a Superbowl party. As you can tell, DT is a very willing helper. LT supervised the toppers and I must say they came out cute! We tried a new recipe... (okay from box/package, does it still count as a recipe??). You take the break & bake cookie dough and then break it up and stick it in the freezer for a while. Then you beat up your batter and put it in the cups and right before it goes in the oven, put a blob of cookie dough in each one. It doesn't cook through since it's frozen. Voila! Cookie dough cupcakes! Yum!

Thank you for the sweet treats, guys! I just couldn't get them out of my screen.;-( .. And that was a unique recipe--was the frosting fondant?
gma/momsie
The toppers were made of marshmallow fondant. There was a little dark chocolate frosting underneath to hold it on.
interesting recipe! did the kids like the cookie dough? jt never likes to like the beaters, so i would guess he wouldn't like the cupcakes. (strange kid, i know, but more for me!)
is the marshmallow fondant tastier than a usual one?
The kids liked the cupcakes, but the adults REALLY liked the cupcakes. They were a hit at the party and there was only one left to take home at the end.
MMF doesn't taste too bad. It just tastes sugary. I've never tried the regular. LT likes to just eat the scraps as you cut things out.
loved the valentines. :) now if you could just send some cupcakes this way?
oh, forgot to mention that the valentines are amazing (as usual). did the other kids have such cool valentines or are you known as the mom who does all the neat stuff? jt made some out of construction paper, stickers, etc. but i think only one other one was homemade - the rest were store-bought cards and no really cool picture ones like LT and DT!
Awesome valentines! Must be a lot of work putting in the dum dums (and great bokeh on those photos) :-)

All the other valentine's were store bought. I don't know if any other moms noticed or not. If they did, they might do the same thing because the investment is very small. $4 in dumdums, $4 in picture printing (this year they are 2 per 4x6), 10 minutes in picture taking, 20 minutes in photo editing and uploading, 20 minutes or less in trimming, slicing and dumdum insertion. I had my lovely assistant take care of that. He was quite speedy.
The valentines are so cute...do you just print out pictures and then cut a place for the suckers? Very cute.
