Kiwi PIckings

Still time to sqeeze in a January blog. It has been absolutely beautiful here while much of the rest of the country has been covered in snow. Last weekemd was especially nice, sunny and in the high 60s. We spent a beautiful day picking kiwis, or at least exploring the orchard, and hiking down to the beach. We finished it off with a campfire dinner in the backyard with friends. (Pizza pudgie pies and s'mores!)

These pictures are from our new(ish) video camera. Not bad for the non primary purpose!

Always glad to see pics of family! I see that the kiwi shrubby vines were pretty well picked over, but glad you found a few.
Is that green really so green? The sky is beautiful against it. And I think LT by the ocean is quite an artsy shot. DT is one good hauler!

so kiwis grow on vines, sort of like a grape vine?

all things considered, our winter's been quite mild as well. no complaints!

Kiwis actually grow on a tree. Those vines are ollalieberry, I think, on the way to the kiwi patch.

You can see the kiwis on the tree in this picture:
