Monterey

Last weekend we had a mini-vacation to Monterey. It was really nice! I predict more in our future...

Here are some pictures from Day 1.

Wildlife

More wildlife. Oh wait, those are the boys! The older had tripped Friday afternoon and hit his head on the cement.

Mommy & LT as whalers?? Didn't actually look at the front before hopping in the back!

Cavity

Last Monday, LT got two cavities filled at Dr. Rabitz. (See the rabbit? :))

TT took him and he did great. He watched some of "Horton Hears a Who" and "Cars" on the TV screen above the chair.

He looks so little on the chair!

He seems to have been blessed with deep grooves on his teeth so we are doing our best to keep from having to do any more fillings!

Busy Weekend

Saturday, we went to the Home & Garden show

Sunday, we had a day of Museums!
The Children's Musuem

The Tech Musuem

Very stimulating.

I was excited because it was all free! Our neighbors were exhibiting at the home show, so they got us passes, we have a membership to the Kid's museum (thank you Gma/Gpa T), and it was free 2nd Sunday of the month at the Tech museum!

9 months old!

Wednesday, DT was 9 months old. He celebrated by crawling over to the bookshelf and taking down all his books.

He is a sweet happy guy. He can crawl, pull up, get into anything. He has 5 teeth and one more on the way. He loves food. He can pick up cherrios and shredded cheese and get them to his mouth most of the time. He hardly ever sleeps more than 2 hours at a time.

He's a great part of our lives!

And some other pictures from last week...

"Alla" (LT's dinosaur friend) gets a ride in the backpack

Babyfood from last week came out so pretty!
Pea-zuchinni, green bean-potato, pear-rasberry, and asian pear-peach

Kiwi

If you recall back when we went Strawberry picking, there was a mention of U-Pick Kiwis and we were all wondering how kiwis grew. Well, wonder no more!

The pickers at the ready (LT is stealing DT's light, but they are just cute together!)

Arrrrr...

Small child, big orchard

Daddy toss up, times 2

After picking our kiwis, we stopped at the farmstand where we had blackberry cobbler, strawberry cheesecake, strawberry lemonade and cider. Mmmm, mmmm. Then we took a little hike down to the beach for the sunset.

There he goes!

And he's off...

When the big bro wasn't stealing the toys, this is what he was up to!

Seeing a lot of this ...

Everywhere, all the time!

I just thought this was funny. LT & I were looking up beds for the boys room online and he had to take a picture of this top contender!

Babyfood Extravaganza

Last weekend was a babyfood making "event." 3 types of veggies and 2 types of fruit. All devoured by the munchkin.

From left, sweet potato & parsnip, butternut squash & carrot, summer squash & zucchini (added frozen peas)

Ready to go! The fruits were apple blueberry and pear kiwi.

Here is the culprit!

See that top tooth! There are partial teeth on either side of this one, too.

Looks like we'll need another food making extravaganza this weekend as that is all pretty much gone. I need some more containers so I can get ahead.

Crabbin'

We went crab fishing in Seattle. The crab were hopping and we caught our catch in only about 1/2 an hour. These are red rock crab. We caught them with chicken legs. If you were going a lot, you'd probably use some cheaper bait like free fish heads from the fish market. They did love that chicken, though!

Watching Grandpa pull in the catch

I see some in there!

With Grandma

With Mom, yes, it was cold! (before the two of us chickened out and waited in the car)

Showing off some of the catch.

Dinner!

LT declared them better than the Alaskan king crab legs we had had just a day or two before.

Presents

Apparently I didn't take many pictures, or something. I need to download the other camera and see if we got some better shots from Christmas and our trip to Seattle. I like this one, though, because so many presents are nicely playing together. Let's see, there's the Imaginext castle, Lego duplo dinosaur set, Lego airplane, DT's soft block set and cardboard blocks... all in one big fantasy land!

We went to Seattle then after Christmas and got back last night. LT didn't want to come home.

Reasons Gma & Gpa's house is better:
1. They have stairs.
2. They have apple cider.
3. They don't brush teeth.
4. They don't have time outs.
5. Their TV is better.
6. Again, they have stairs. It's hard to compete.

Silly boy!

DT still wanted to come back with us. We took them both in the end.

He really wants to crawl!

I've been trying to upload a video for 2 days and then I realized my file was way too enormous, so I had to do a little editing and downsizing. It's not that bad really! I should take more video.

Anyways, here is DT trying so hard to crawl. He is very close. He can get anywhere he wants to go already.

Christmas is Coming

We went for a different look this year. The "yard tree" is a tradition in our neighborhood. Each street has a tree coordinator who orders them in November. It's so pretty to see them down the street!

The tree!

We had an ornament casualty this year. My helper dropped the glass pickle in the kitchen and it shattered. We bought another pickle and I dropped it getting out of the bag. Our friends then gave us a new one for Christmas and so far it is doing okay!

Since our family is probably complete, it was time for new stockings. Instead of ordering some, I decided to make some. TT & I were wondering what I was thinking, but in the end, I think they came out quite nice. LT was nice enough to be sick one day, so I had to stay home from work and was able to finish them up. It turns out they weren't as big as they could have been! I still had trouble fitting everything in. We don't have a mantel, so we're not quite sure where to put them.
